The KTKP traditional materia medica record (M0002516) gives the origin species as Forsythia suspensa (Thunb.) Vahl, the part used as 종자, and the properties as 고(苦), 무독(無毒), 미한(微寒). It lists 담(膽), 소장(小腸), 심(心), 폐(肺) as the channels entered. The same record cites the Donguibogam (1613) as the source for its indications.
